Hosted by textile artist and designer Lisa King & the Embassy of Indonesia, Batik: Recolouring Tradition explores modern interpretations and reinterpretations of the Indonesian wax-resist art form. Lisa's work has been inspired by research into her late mother Farida King's rich textile archive and created through collaborations with artisan communities in Indonesia and colour specialists in the UK. The result is an exploration of batik that presents it as a powerful medium and offers a tactile connection to personal histories and place.
